The Lamproom Theatre Company is based in Barnsley and performs at the rapidly developing Lamproom Theatre in Westgate, Barnsley.

AN ENGAGEMENT WITH MURDER - (a home-grown play written by Rotherham drama teacher Adam Hart, based on the Waddington's board game of CLUEDO) 5 males and 5 females of varying ages and strong character. Each night there is a different murderer, so an audience will see a slightly different denouement. Just the sort of comedy-drama for an Autumn evening. This play will be directed by Reece Andrews.

A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS - a costumed, historical drama by Robert Bolt concerning a slice in the lives of Sir Thomas Moore, Cardinal Wolsey, and King Henry 8th. Great scope for those who like a more serious, dramatic challenge, this renowned play encompasses roles for 11 males and 3 females and will be directed by Steve Fox during the October half-term.

MOVE OVER Mrs MARKHAM - a cracking farce by Ray Cooney and John Chapman, with excellent character roles for 5 females and 4 males of varying ages.   It is hoped that this play - to be directed by Ross Michaels - will follow in the footsteps of the past two years' comedy successes (Abigail's Party and Fur Coat and No Knickers), bringing the first half of LTC's 2008/2009 season to a roaring conclusion.

Audition/read-through dates have yet to be penned, but all up-coming information can be gleaned from the secretary, Phil Johnson, on 01226 203961, when this becomes available. We hope to offer this information for and during June.

To update your membership, or to be added to the LTC membership list, please contact the Membership Secretary, Mary Creasey, on 07818285215.

The LTC hopes that by selecting plays with larger casts, it will encourage members old and new to participate in an exciting season, with plenty of scope for everyone. Backstage crew are more than welcome. A production can be equally enjoyable backstage, behind-the-scenes as heads of stage management, costume, properties, scenic building and painting, etc., so please join in and help where you can.
