The Lamproom Theatre Company is based in Barnsley and performs at the  Lamproom Theatre in Westgate, Barnsley.

Open Audition for Blood Brothers (the Play) - Sunday September 12th, 2010 at the Polish Club beginning at 1pm.

Audition pieces are now at the Box Office at the Lamproom.

The company produces six plays a year, three in the spring and three in the autumn. Details of coming plays are listed here with notification of audition information.

The LTC has been successful in local and national drama festivals within its 10 years of operation.

One of those productions from 2003 was Up'N'Under which is the play that, at the last minute, fills the space made vacant by the withdrawal of the rights to perform Educating Rita in September.

The successful 2010  spring season comprised:

Blackadder goes Forth, the TV series adapted for the stage.
A successful debut direction by Nick Gillott.

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
Directed by Bill Fisher

The Rise and Fall of Little Voice by Jim Cartwright
Directed by Phil Shepherd

Once again, full houses greeted these productions and excellent box office returns were made, for the benefit and future of the theatre itself.

2009 a brief look back....

Sparkies, Dreamers
and Turns, all in one three week run,  ended the 10th anniversary year with a bang. Full houses and standing ovations on nearly every night.

 Are You Being Served?
has played to virtually full houses each night of its run. With a set, by Ross Michaels, that immediately evokes the memory of Grace Brothers, the play has delighted its audiences.

A Few Good Men
A large cast, headed by experienced members with a number of whom making their stage and Lamproom debut produced a pacy, dramatic performance, but not without the humour from the conflict of the characters. Well done to Phill Shepherd for directing this strong production and to Alice Willerton who had the huge task of sorting out the many costumes.

The Dresser by Ronald Harwood
A successful week on stage with a great set and superb performances from all the cast.
Sadly, the audiences who came were small in number, especially early in the week. If you missed it, you missed a real treat.

The Beauty Queen of Leenane by Martin MacDonagh completed a fantastic week.
Directed by John Kelly.

One unsolicited audience member was prompted to write:

I came to see your play last night (Thursday)and was treated to an absolutely brilliant production. Within one minute I was in Ireland  and it felt as if I was in the same room as the actors. All four of the actors gave everything for which I thank them, their accents never dropped which in itself is hard enough. I thought Ingrid Kellock was superb and Richard Caile's reading of the letter was one of the best solo scenes I have ever seen in any theatre. Could you please pass this  letter on to the actors as I have to go out to buy some complan.
                                Thanks
                                         David Dolby
