The Lamproom Theatre Company
The Lamproom Theatre Company opened its first season with The Crucible by Arthur Miller in 1999. It is now in its thirteenth season, having produced, since 2001, at least six plays a year. We perform three plays at the beginning of each year and three from September through to November. The company has achieved success in this time at both local and national level, having had winning productions in the Wakefield Drama Festivals and, subsequently, at the British All Winners Drama Festivals.
New members are very welcome. If we have contact details for you, we will ensure that once on a mailing list you will receive news of the LTC. A large membership exists and open auditions are held for new plays. Apart from on stage, stage managers and crew are also needed, as well as people willing to help with set building, dressing and props.
All neccessary information about new productions is made available via the web site, e mail and land mail when necessary.
Although we do not have a social meeting place, we rehearse at the Polish Club on Summer Lane in Barnsley, to which members are welcome to attend.
The LTC has a committee to plan the seasons, with an AGM held in summer of each year. The three executive officers of chair, treasurer and secretary are elected for a three year period under a rolling election system. For new and prospective members, it can be a good time to come along and meet.A committee is elected each year.
